Travel on points

    Lesson 1 of 6

    Why points, and why now

The mindset shift: points are a budget line you already spend, redirected toward the trip you keep postponing.

    Save my info

You are already funding someone's travel

Groceries, gas, insurance, the kids' activities, the dentist — you are already moving money through the world every month. When that money moves through a rewards card you pay off in full, a slice of it comes back as travel currency instead of disappearing.

Nothing here asks you to spend more. The entire practice is redirecting spending you cannot avoid anyway.

    The honest guardrail

Points are only free if you never carry a balance. Interest on a revolving balance costs far more than any redemption is worth. If paying in full every month is not realistic right now, this class is still worth reading — just save it for the season when it is.

There is no shame in that timing. Coming back to yourself does not require a credit card.

What this class will and won't do

It will teach you the vocabulary, the mechanics, and a simple repeatable rhythm so a flight to somewhere that scares you a little becomes a decision instead of a fantasy.

It will not recommend specific cards or promise specific values. Offers change constantly; the thinking does not.

    Take this with you

    • Points come from spending you already do — not new spending.
    • Pay in full every month or the math stops working.
    • Learn the system once; it pays for decades.

    Sit with this
